Being one of the best in the league means often guarding the best wide receiver on the opposing team which can be difficult when facing teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, or Buffalo Bills. These players show that at any moment they can change the course of the game through defense.

Jalen Ramsey

One of the most electric corners to watch in the NFL, Jalen Ramsey is considered one of if not the best corner in the league. Drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, Ramsey would quickly become a consistent cornerback in the league.

Being on the Jaguars didn’t help Ramseys drive to win as all the years Ramsey was on the team they weren’t that good. In 2019 Ramsey was traded to the Los Angeles Rams where things turned around quickly.

In the 2022 season Jalen Ramsey would become a superbowl champion and played a pivotal part of the Rams team that did it. Ramsey covered Ja’Marr Chase in the superbowl and was able to shut down the elite receiver. Although Ramseys years in the league are getting numbered he still continues to dominate.

Xavien Howard

Xavien Howard has truly made a name for himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the league in recent years. Howard has played for the Miami Dolphins since 2016 although up until recently the Dolphins haven’t been a good team in the league Howard has launched their defense to cement them as top tier.

Since the Dolphins have now confirmed Tua as their franchise quarterback along with gaining Tyreek Hill in the off season the team is set to be good. Howard’s numbers truly show the impressive play he has on the field.

In the 2021- 2022 season Howard would rack up fifty total stops and five interceptions. Doing all of this while going up against extremely tough teams in the AFC shows his impressive defensive play. Howard’s speed and sight of the ball in the air has allowed him to propel him above other corners.

Trevon Diggs

Trevon Diggs is the dark horse of this list as he’s only been in the league for three years but has launched himself into the top corners in the league. Diggs’s most impressive ability is to read the quarterback better than anyone else.

Digg’s ability to read the quarterback allows himself to often be put into a position to make an interception. In the 2021 season Diggs would rack up eleven total interceptions on the season. Since Diggs is so young there is plenty of room to improve other parts of his game in the coming years.
