TCU continues to shock the world over and over again, Oregon & UCLA landsliding, Georgia is the best

TCU

The TCU Horned Frogs keep finding a way to shock the world. Vegas has them as super underdogs. This previous week was once again a super mistake, to say the least. While Texas did keep the event tight, TCU was able to pull away with a crucial win on the road 17-10, with Frogs QB Max Duggan having a decent performance for 127 yards and a touchdown thrown. What really impressed me about this now solid top 4 ranked team in the college football playoff was their stout run game led by Kendre Miller for 138 yards and a touchdown.

TCU Defense

Along with that, the defense of TCU very much stepped up in this matchup against Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers. Allowing zero passing or rushing touchdowns in this matchup, they were supposed to go down in is extremely impressive, to say the least. With the word that this defense was going to be the weakness of this magical team has proven to be incorrect. With Quinn throwing for 171 yards and an interception, I see these TCU Horned Frogs continuing this improbable run and completing their regular season undefeated. They get to play a Baylor Bears squad next that previously lost to Kansas State 31-3, a team that TCU has already defeated.

Then they will end their year against Iowa State, which I think they will lap as well. Their new head coach this season in Sunny Dykes is really making a name for himself. Becoming the first coach in Big 12 history to win his first 10 games, he’s continued to remind his team that it was picked seventh in the preseason standings, and if it didn’t listen to outsiders then, why start now? “Nobody had any expectations for this football team at all other than ourselves,” he said. “We understand that’s the way it is. Our deal has been, ‘Hey, bring it on.’ If we’ve got to win ’em all, fine; let’s try to win ’em all.” Everything about this squad is a story. From Max Duggan going through heart surgery a season before his current chance to win a college football championship, to Coach Dykes coming in and proving haters wrong, this Frogs team has a chip on their shoulder and I don’t think they’re going anywhere anytime soon.

Oregon and UCLA

While TCU keeps impressing, Oregon and UCLA keep sliding down the ranks after their previous pre-season hype for one if not both of them to be serious contenders for college football playoff contention. With both these squads now receiving 2 losses a piece already and falling out of playoff hopes, a lot of analysts are still shocked by at least one of these results so far. Oregon’s QB Bo Nix and UCLA’s QB in Dorian Thompson Robinson have not lived up to their immense hype.

With the Ducks losing to Washington and the Bruins losing to Arizona, this opens the way for a whole different playoff picture coming forward. And how about Ole Miss at home against Alabama blowing that opportunity? With Jaylen Young and the Tide squad playing extremely average through this whole bout and very poor in the first half, it was disappointing, to say the least, to see the Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart continually not finish drives in the red zone. All teams discussed in this paragraph will be in bowl games, but will not be on the big stage, and frankly, they don’t deserve it.

Georgia Rise

Georgia football is a masterclass. And they will win the college football playoffs. Stetson Bennett and the coach in Kirby Smart have single-handedly led this team to evolve into the new Alabama. The leadership Smart displays as a coach to high fiving, hugging, and fully supporting all his Bulldog players on both sides of the field to Bennett just simply getting it done, like in big games against Tennessee and proving his ability to stand toe-to-toe with debatably the better QB in Hendon Hooker for the Vols just proves this team is going to do it. They don’t have any true weaknesses, and their leadership is outstanding. You’ll see them as back-to-back champs very soon.
