With that type of leadership as a coach, there is no doubt this young team could blossom into an elite team in the league. At the moment, though, this team is still very young, and the ceiling is unknown for what the Patriots can do.

Mac Jones

Drafted in 2021, Mac Jones was New Englands young quarterback after Tom Brady was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After just one season in the NFL, Jones presented a lot of promise leading the Patriots to the playoffs. Although the Patriots would lose to the Bills, the stats that Jones put up over the season left Patriots fans with hope of the coming seasons.

Jones would put up over 3801 yards and 22 touchdowns over the entire season. Although Jones started off with a great rookie season, there were still some flaws as he threw fourteen interceptions over the course of the season. Jones still shows much promise for a young quarterback.

Defense

One aspect of the Patriots that already has paid off in terms of promise is their defense. All around, this defensive team is tough and hits all of the marks when it comes to having a defensive presence. Some of this team’s best defensive players consist of Matt Judon, Malcolm Butler, Josh Uche, and Christian Barmore.

Having two experienced players like Malcolm Butler and Matt Judon, who have been in the league for over five years, helps the younger players like Josh Uche and Christian Barmore. When this team decides to blitz, it’s a scary sight. As this defense continues to grow, it’ll be exciting to see how good they can get.

Offensive Line

The offensive line for the Patriots is a key factor in how fast the team will be able to rebuild and become one of the best teams in the league. It is important to protect the young quarterback in Jones and give him enough time in the pocket to through.

Up till now, the offensive line for the Patriots have done just that; one of the key aspects of this offense is Jones ability to throw and his time in the pocket is vital. Two key players of this offensive line are offensive tackle Trent Brown and tight end, Jonnu Smith.

Trent Brown pass blocking grade was rated sixth out of all of the right tackles in the league in the 2021-2022 season. Brown, complemented by Smith’s receiving and blocking ability, allows this offensive line to run like clockwork.
