The NFL season is now underway and there were a ton of upsets in the first 3 weeks. Find out which teams I think are NFL contenders this season.
Who Are The NFL Contenders Of The Season?
The NFL season has been crazy thus far. The expert’s predictions have been all over the place, and quite frankly, mine have been too. There have been a ton of upsets to start the year and it’s been so unpredictable.
Some teams have had bad injury luck to start out and some have just played bad. Some of these teams haven’t played well, and they could easily make a deep run into the postseason.
So here are my thoughts on some of the NFL contenders this season.
NFL Contenders That Are Legit and Playoff Bound
Bills: The Bills have been terrific, despite the loss to the Dolphins last week. They smacked up on the Rams in the season-opener and then murdered the Titans the following week.
Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs continue to be a dynamic duo, as they already have 4 touchdowns so far. The Bill’s defense has also been spectacular. Buffalo is legit.
Dolphins: The Dolphins have been absolutely incredible to start the season. Tyreke Hill has been a phenomenal addition, and alongside Jaylen Waddle, they are the best receiving duo in the league.
Tua has proven he can throw the ball and the defense is still solid as always. Miami has a real shot in the AFC.
Buccaneers: The Buccaneers are still 2-1, despite the injuries and suspension. Tom Brady continues to play like the GOAT, even with limited options.
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones are all capable of big plays and I think Tampa’s offense will start to turn up the Heat through the season. Plus, the defense is outstanding. I like the Bucs to win the NFC.
Teams That Haven’t Started Strong, but Can Bounce Back
Chargers: The Chargers have hit the injury bug and haven’t been able to start the way they wanted. Justin Herbert has played well, despite an injury to his ribs and missing his main target in Keenan Allen.
Los Angeles still has Austin Ekeler and Mike Williams who are bound to break out any time. Oh, and they have Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack on both sides of the D-line. The Chargers will be just fine.
Cardinals: The Cardinals are dealing with injuries and suspensions as well. Nevertheless, they still have Kyler Murray at the helm and he’s been brilliant to start the season.
The Cardinals are 1-2, but DeAndre Hopkins will be back in Week 7 and Hollywood Brown is one of the most dynamic receivers in the league. I like the Cardinal’s odds in a weak NFC West.
Bengals: The Bengals have also had a rough go with a 1-2 start. They were stunned by the Steelers and Cowboys to start the season but rolled over the Jets in Week 3.
Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Joe Mixon are an elite trio that can make plays happen throughout the season. The Bengals will win their division.
Each of these teams is a contender for the Super Bowl and will be just fine by the end of the regular season.
