Most Popular NFL Championship Future Bets

While the 2021 NFL season has just come to an end, that does not stop the betting world from making their picks for who will lift up the Lombardi Trophy in the 2022-23 season. This article will review the five most popular future bets to this point, and my favorite pick.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (+700)

The odds on favorite to win Super Bowl 57, the Kansas City Chiefs have been consistently in the championship race ever since Patrick Mahomes took over the helm. After a crushing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC championship game, the team is looking to rebound and be back in the Super Bowl once again.

Patrick Mahomes continues to show why he is the best quarterback in football, and with playmakers Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, the offense remains nearly impossible to slow down. Expect the Chiefs to come back more motivated than ever to reclaim the throne, as the team is more than deserving of having the best odds to be NFL champions.

  1. New York Jets (+20000)

Yes, you read that right. The New York Jets of all teams have more Super Bowl bets than the Kansas City Chiefs and 27 other NFL teams.

Second-year quarterback Zac Wilson showed promise at the end of his rookie season with the Jets, and the young team has rallied behind new head coach Robert Saleh. While things are beginning to look up for the team, by no means is this bet a good one.

New York has not even reached the playoffs since 2010, and after a 4-13 record in 2021, one should not be confident they can break the drought next year. While it is exciting to place a little money on a crazy longshot, there is no fun in a losing bet.

  1. Los Angeles Rams (+1200)

The reigning Super Bowl champs find themselves with the third-most Super Bowl bets, and if the roster is able to stay together, there is no reason why this team cannot repeat as champs.

Matt Stafford has proven to the world that all he needed was a competent team around him in order to win, as the previously winless playoff quarterback steamrolled through the NFC on his way to winning his first Super Bowl. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp concluded possibly the best receiving season in history, and I do not expect teams to have defensive answers for the stud wideout going into next year.

LA has key free agents they will try to bring back in Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller. If the team is able to secure them, there is no reason why this team would not be the favorite to represent the NFC once again in Super Bowl 57.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals (+1500)

The other team in Super Bowl 56, the Cincinnati Bengals were minutes away from completing their Cinderella story. Young stars Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase led a team with the same championship odds as the Jacksonville Jaguars to a Super Bowl appearance.

If Cincinnati wants to repeat their success and cash out their Super Bowl bet, they will have to address the offensive line. Burrow was sacked nine times in the divisional round (NFL playoff record), and seven times in the Super Bowl (Super Bowl record).

While Joe  Burrow has proven to be a born winner and one of the best five quarterbacks in football, it is going to be difficult for the team to run the table once again, as the team will not be sneaking up on anyone this time around.

  1. Buffalo Bills (+750)

If Patrick Mahomes does not pull magic in the last thirteen seconds of regulation, the Buffalo Bills may easily be the defending Super Bowl champions right now. Josh Allen was playing at a hall-of-fame  level in the postseason, throwing nine touchdowns in only two games.

Buffalo’s defense has improved as well, as young standouts Greg Rousseau and Tremaine Edmunds continue to improve their game each passing year. This team lacks a true weakness offensively and defensively, as the biggest mistake the team has made all year was losing the overtime coin toss against the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round.

My Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs (+700)

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. As long as Patrick Mahomes is the quarterback, this is a team I refuse to bet against. Despite falling apart in the second half of the AFC championship, the Chiefs are my pick to win the Super Bowl in 2023.
