Former number 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tides were shocked and surprised on Saturday night as they concurred a loss to the Texas A&M Aggie loosing 41-38. The loss broke Alabama’s win streak and dropped their rankings.
Former assistant to Alabama head coach and now Texas A&M head coach Jimbo fisher won the game. Nick Saban discussed his disappointment in the loss and shared insight on how Alabama plans on recovering from this Loss.
“I think if you look back in the record book, we won 19 games in a row and went to South Carolina and played about like we played today and got beat. So I don’t know the psychology of all that, but it really is not when you get to the game.
When you get to the game, everybody wants to win. Everybody wants to play well. It’s what did you do to get the game? How did you prepare?
How did you practice? What kind of habits did you create so you can carry those things to the game? And that’s what sort of eliminates bad plays. You’ve gotta give the other team credit.
They’re capable of making plays. Their guys are on scholarship, too. But when you don’t do things like you think you need to do them, then that’s because what kind of habits did you create in preparation.” Said Nick Saban
Will Bryce Young Recover
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, who is a Heisman front runner completed 28 of 48 passes in the intense game, adding 3 touchdowns and an interception. That interception is what ultimately contributed to this Crimson tide loss.
“I’ve just gotta do a better job of making better decisions, better reads, getting us into better plays,” Young said. “That’s something that we talk about a lot. It’s inexcusable. Whenever we are in the red zone, run or pass, we can’t turn it over. That’s something I have to improve on.
We wanna score touchdowns. We didn’t do that enough today, and at the end of the day, that’s my fault. That falls on me. There’s a lot of stuff I could have done differently.”
Alabama is on watch now and even though they are now bumped down to 5th they are heavily on watch and this could either show Nick Saban’s rigorousness and put Alabama back in the conversation for National champions or end the “once great” coaches reign
