Last week, the diamond level match-up was a battle between two AFC East teams: the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins managed to hang on in an extremely humid South Florida environment for the 21-19 win over the Bills.

The game involved several controversial moments: Tua Tagovailoa’s “concussion protocol” that got him back into the game within minutes. A punt by the Dolphins out of their end zone went off the butt of the center in front of him, leading to a safety.

The Bills’ end-of-game woes resulted in one of the best GIFs that the NFL has given us in quite some time. The frustration that Ken Dorsey showed at the end of the Bills-Dolphins game will inevitably be channeled into their Week 4 match-up.

Buffalo Bills: Still the Class of the League?

Winning your division results in a tough schedule next year, and the Bills will feel that in October.

This month, the Bills face the Ravens on the road next week, followed by the Steelers at home, then ending the month with a road matchup against the Chiefs in Arrowhead, and closing the month with the Packers coming to Orchard Park.

The Bills will have to manage that tough road schedule over the next month with a host of injuries to their starting lineup. Another controversial moment from the Bills-Dolphins game was the South Florida heat, which led to 11(!) Bills starters going down with injuries throughout the game.

Lamar Jackson Has the Ravens Rolling

The Baltimore Ravens are 2-1 heading into their showdown with the Bills, coming off a win against the Patriots in Foxboro.

Lamar Jackson has been off to a hot start for the Ravens. He is the team’s leading passer, with 749 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions through the first 3 weeks of the season. Jackson is also the team’s leading runner, with 249 yards rushing and 2 TDs.

Jackson is currently playing without a guaranteed contract for next year. He declined to accept a five-year extension worth over $250 million, with $133 million guaranteed before the season. Citing Desean Watson’s fully guaranteed contract, Jackson declined the offer and is betting on himself this season before resuming negotiations with the Ravens.

Game Prediction

The oddsmakers have this one as a shootout, with a total of 54.5, and the Bills as road favorites, favored by -4.

This game could very well be a shootout between two potential NFL MVPs. A lot of that will depend on how healthy Buffalo’s defense can get in the week off. Right now, it looks as if the majority of their starting secondary will be injured for the game.

I expect that this game will be a shootout between two leading MVP candidates. Each will be trying to win the game for their team, and should provide us with a thrilling afternoon of football. Get your popcorn ready for this one!
