Minnesota Vikings Beat Buffalo Bills 33-30

Two months ago, NFL fans were shocked by what was a real contender for game of the year, regardless of how the postseason pans out.

On November 13th, 2022, the Minnesota Vikings traveled to the Buffalo Bills’ home ground of Highmark Stadium. What unfolded was an absolute arm wrestle between two evenly matched sides. Initially, this match did not look like it would be as close as it ended up being, with the Bills running out to a 27-10 lead after conceding an early touchdown. However, the Vikings charged back into the match and set up a chaotic final few minutes. Both sides had opportunities to win the game, with the Vikings’ defense putting them into the lead by capitalizing on a fumble with less than a minute on the clock before the Bills stormed up the field and kicked a goal to head to extra time.

Extra time was no less dramatic, with the Vikings kicking a field goal and the Bills having their own chance, before giving away an intercept that lost the home side the game.

Green Bay Packers Beat Dallas Cowboys 31-28

Not to be outdone, the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys also played a pearl of a game on the same day as the Vikings pipped the Bills.

Playing in front of the Packers’ home crowd, this match unfolded in an eerily similar fashion as well. The Packers conceded a hefty lead, falling behind 28-14 before launching their comeback. Consecutive touchdowns and a lot of heart from a team that had just lost five in a row sent the match to extra time, where the Cowboys marched up the field and had a chance to win, but turned the ball over. The Packers then went all the way to the Cowboys’ 10-yard line, kicked a field goal, and sealed the result 31-28 in their favor.

The chances of two games going to extra time on the same day are astronomically slim, but that’s exactly what happened on the 13th of November 2022. Philadelphia Eagles Beat Green Bay Packers 40-33

A fortnight later, the Green Bay Packers were part of another NFL regular season epic. This time, they were caught in an engaging contest with the Philadelphia Eagles, which they came out on the wrong side of.

Facing off at the Lincoln Financial Field, this scoreline may not have been as close as the other two matches we’ve covered. However, this was a game to remember for another reason: The clash of offenses From the get-go this match looked to be an offensive battle and ended up having 842 total yards with nine touchdowns and only three punts. The difference in this game was Eagle quarterback Jalen Hurts, who finished the match with more than 150 rushing yards and passing yards, as well as two touchdowns to his name—the first time this has happened since 1950.
