Lamar Jackson missed three weeks of voluntary team-organized practices. Lamar Jackson is coming into his fourth year under his rookie contract being the last year before negotiations for his next contract.
This is the first time out of all the years as a Raven that Jackson has done this causing some things to speculate if he is prepared for the 2022- 23 season.
With a difficult ending to the previous season for the Baltimore Ravens, I believe the city and the organization are ready to go. Searching for a way to find their way to the Superbowl.
Jacksons Whereabouts
Jackson missed the last month of the 2021 season due to an ankle injury Lamar suffered. Causing the Ravens to miss the playoffs since 2017. Ending the season under .500 with an 8-9 record and the longest losing streak in the AFC North with 6 consecutive losses.
The last loss was an overtime loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 9. With this steak of poor performances, the Baltimore fans can be uneasy knowing their star QB missed the first 3 weeks of optional work considering he’s never done that before.
The organization took to Twitter assuring the fans that Lamar made it to the mandatory minicamp and is ready to work. Coach John Harbaugh put his trust in Lamar and is free of worry when it comes to Lamar Jackson. He understands that Lamar is a hard worker and knows what his responsibilities are.
Now that Lamar is at Raven’s facilities they can get the ball rolling and build that championship chemistry that every team needs to win a super bowl. Jackson worked out in his hometown South Florida during the NFL off-season.
Being named to the pro bowl the previous season Lamar fell short of a ring and is returning for revenge.
Redemption year
The 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson is preparing for a huge final year under contract with the Baltimore Ravens. The Superstar Quarterback refrained from contract negotiations during this offseason and has been focused on his game and sharpening his skills.
The highly anticipated Training camp beings in July and this 3-day practice will give the media a small taste of what they can expect in the 22-23 season. Surrounding the question of Lamar’s whereabouts and causing rumors of fines of upward of 90k.
The QB arrived and put an end to all the rumors and controversy. With the difficulties the ravens faced the previous season it’s understandable that they would question what team they should be expecting. For the ravens to be effective they need Lamar to initiate the office for them and be the superstar that he is. A word from his teammates says Lamar is at the facility and he’s looking good.
Only time will tell how the Ravens fair in the AFC North this season, But I believe that the fans of this organization can expect a good season from the Ravens. Being Lamars last season it would be fair to expect him to overperform in order to gain negation leverage to secure a huge contract being his contract expires this year.
